Hi!

I’m Tayla!

I’m a pediatric speech-language pathologist and the founder of Newport County Speech Therapy. I created this practice with one goal in mind: to provide personalized, compassionate support that helps children communicate with confidence while making families feel truly supported throughout the process. My passion for speech therapy began through working closely with children and families in school-based settings, where I saw firsthand how meaningful communication impacts every part of a child’s life,  from building friendships to expressing wants, needs, and emotions. I also recognized how overwhelming navigating services can sometimes feel for families, and I wanted to create a practice that felt approachable, collaborative, and centered around real connection.I specialize in working with children with speech sound disorders, language delays, AAC needs, feeding challenges, and early childhood communication differences.

My therapy approach is child-led, play-based, and individualized because I believe children learn best when they feel engaged, supported, and empowered.Building strong relationships with families is one of the most important parts of my work. I value open communication, parent collaboration, and creating functional goals that make a difference in everyday life, at home, at school, and in the community.

At Newport County Speech Therapy, my goal is not only to help children strengthen communication skills, but also to help families feel confident, informed, and supported every step of the way.I’m so glad you’re here, and I look forward to connecting with you!

--Tayla Costa, M.S., CCC-SLP
